Patch Poll #1: What to patch next ?

When talking trough your guys’ feedback, the features and fixes we have on our list anyway, we came to the conclusion that it is you, who gave the feedback, it is you, who is looking forward to the patch and it is you, who will be playing the game and our patches. So why don’t we ask you to prioritize?

No sooner said, than done:

What of the following shall we prioritize for the next patch?

A) Compare items (compare your equipped items with the ones in the inventory or the store)

B) Notes on the map (make your own notes on the world map)

C) Retro mode (choose the retro mode within the options menu in order to get the real retro feel)

D) Anti Spider option (choose to have spiders replaced by a placeholder)

I think the detailed map icons will be enough to make personal map notes a lower priority than item comparison.

Compare Items is a must,
Map Notes a close second,
Retro Mode sounds like a cute little feature,
And I have no sympathy for arachnophobes demanding special treatment; get yourself some treatment, silly.
Which kind of reminds me; I don't think there's anything in this game solely coded by color, so that seems fine, but this style of game also feels easy to adapt for people with more severe sight impairments; setting up flags for a machine voice should suffice. Now that'd be a worthwhile endeavor.

Option (A) for me are the best choise for next patch.
But dont forget the last patch dont work very good .
Several crashes ,game lag etc etc etc....

Thank god there seem to be no arachnophobes in this community! I remember Grimrock's forums being awash with demented people demanding a special dev patch for spiders.

I think a retro mode would be super awesome. But as a final "Hey we've got the resources for it, and we've finished all major projects, sure why not!", not as a high priority target.

Its nice to see the vote is 57% Compare items, followed by Map at 36%, retro 7%, and Spider 0%, right after i voted. A and B are the only things important, the rest is user-mod stuff...

Seems there is no need for anti-spider-option.^^
However I do not see the need of such an option. I fear spiders myself, I cannot even get near a spider. But these "Spiders" are just painted piles of polygons, they are not real. They will not jump out of the screen and attack you. Just give them what they deserve. Let them taste your sword. That can be quite pleasing.

Why do Retro Mode and AntiSpiderOption. Thats useless imo. Better to fix save/load and if you like real dev option, than give us more character classes or more spells.

It's difficult to make a choice between A or B as I would like both, but I chose A at this point and would hope B makes it into the game in the future.

I voted for comparing items map notes would be nice
though.
What I would like to see would be the scaling down of the ghosts, come on they are ridiculously tough. I killed all the ghosts and then got to the crypt to find a door that wont open and the ghosts re-spawn at the same spot at the intersection. It took all my mana potions I saved up to keep my spell caster casting Burning Determination so I could beet the last guys 11 potions.
That being said I want more content I really like the game

Anti spider option? seriously? for some people who are scared from spiders? What's next? Remove the Gulls for people having Ornithophobia or chiroptophobia for the bats?

seriously!!! There are more important things to patch. LIke the fact that the save function is not working for me and many other players. Kind of crucial to be able to save your game. Also, every time I try to enter Castle Porteymon, the entry doesn't work. I get this same problem at other entry points in the game. These are both really big game issues. I can't play the game unless these are fixed. Please make this a priority.

A & B are wonderful sounding... please, please! The other two, who cares. I like the look and wouldn't even consider a "retro" version. As for the spiders - why change them? I'm totally arachnophobic and I LOVE killing the spiders!! :-)

i voted for the compare items. I hope that the final version would take into account multipliers etc. so tht one can compare the final output damage, armor etc. and not just as shown in the picture (yes i do know that it is just an example now). regarding the map notes, then there should be som hover over standard popup that says blacksmith og perhaps icons like outside the shops so that i shouldn't waste time typing standard stuff instead of playing the game.

As said, if map already included some default notes on dots and shops, A then B.

But BEFORE that :
1) broken system binary needs to be replaced by durability (anything less random) or go away.
2) the fact that if you load a game from ingame (not main menu), it "works" but then you can't save your game anymore (even though you get no error message).

I think the spider option is really dumb. Retro mode is pointless unless you're going to replace all the 3D bullshit with hand-drawn images. Which you obviously aren't.

But it's easy to see what stats is better then the ones you have alredy.

A then B - B then A? doesn't really matter as both are very useful. I'll raise a hand for A - item comparison. I have yet to put a note on a map in a game, but others can benefit from such feature.

But C and D? Come on, seriously. Is this some sort of sanity test?

Couple other features would be much better to work on that C or D: For instance:
A path arrow to point you in the correct direction to complete the currently selected quest. (I got lost on which direction to go and didnt know how to get out of town since it was blocked by a guard until u talk to the quest giver.)

Another option would be to have some random monsters return to a cleared area so you can continue to collect gold and level up if necessary.

While I'm aware that Spider Removal from fantasy games is actually a thing (because people with arachnophoby do get panicked just by looking at them), it isn't a priority. It is a niche need that'll almost certainly be modded out of the game by the people concerned about it.

Map notes would be nice, but once you get familiarized with the maps you don't really need it. Item comparison is a must, as it is too fiddly and annoying to do it manually. Retro mode is a novelty at best.

A and B are both really needed. C and D seem to be very user specific, and not a wide call for them.
I also suggest E: Paperdoll, so we can see what we look like with our current equipment.

Auto Map notes is important and should be included as well as the ability to create your own notes- you visit a pin on the Map - when you mouse over the name or location it pops up! Also movement needs to be speeded up also! Also town portal scrolls - no long slogs back to town! Shops need to auto restock themselves daily with new gear! Keep up the good work!

I was disappointed to see the disappearing gold bug was not mentioned. The Game is barely playable with this bug. Also the wandering action bar options. It is a real pain to keep re-dragging the action icon onto the action bar. I see this bugs as being the primary focus of the patch.

I've installed the first patch. Initially I can buy spells and weapons, then my gold disappears. I sell weapons: my gold disappears which means I can't use the temple or buy supplies..

Comparing items is a fairly modern feature in games, but it is just downright essential and IMHO doesn't ruin any "classic" style. Map notes are very helpful, but a slightly lower priority. The Retro mode seems cool, but I would like to see/read more about it first. And the more spiders the better. Cue the Spider Slayer Achievement at anytime.

For me, "comparing items" is a must have in any modern RPG. I completely agree with Ishrivan's post.
I played all of the classic games, and have been a gamer since pre-PC days when we stood in lines to play Pac-Man...Commodore Vic 20 / 64/ 128/ Amiga 500/1000/2000 and Might and Magic has been there for most of it. To make it too "classic" I think would be nostalgic for many, but too tedious to the console zombies. A new Might and Magic with the old school flavor is what I think is our goal.

Comparing items was in the older M&M games where you had to go the blacksmith for him to tell you the stats of the weapons/armor/items. It wasnt so bad but if you forget the stats... you had to keep paying the blacksmith.

Notes for the map, a great one too.

Retro mode... for me, Im not feeling the vibe. None of the M&M games looked blocky, maybe games like ThunderScape. If it were to change to 2D mode, then (dunno if it would look great) I think you would had me interested.

Would definitly agree on A and B, but also add a picture of our characters wearing the equipped items, really miss that from the MM7 and MM8, it was a cool feature.

But still, could be fun with the spider option, as most of the players would go into a rage!

I would prefer to make notes available as we progress into new realms, I'm kinda used to Sorpigal by Sea now, so no rush, but I would also really like C if there are delays in movement cased by graphics. After unoffical patch though I must say it was MUCH better than 1st release. So notes win.

Re: Disappearing gold.
It starts to disappear after entering secret door in spider dungeon, then continues to diminish as you move from scene to scene until it reaches zero. At that point you can't repair weapons, buy anything or use the temple or inn.
Game over.

I have short term memory loss issues, so for me B would be awesome on so many levels. I even logged into the forums to post something about adding this to the game. Then I came across this! A would be my second choice though. C, no thanks at all. D would be a minor thing, but would be nice to have some different stuff to fight...spiders eww!

I feel this is an important turn in M&M series.
I wished we could have voted for more than one
Compare Items and Map Notes are on my wishlist for M&M.
I could not understand Retro Mode, were we talking about 2D pixels for the entire world instead of 3D models? That sounds a cool feature to a certain core of gamers.
What is Anti Spider option?
Spiders in Sorpigal=Yes
Spiders in Agyn= maybe not, why not wolves or else?
Add NPC types. The more types the merrier M&M gets

I'm in for B - since i play only one day a week and then remenbering the place of an inne, the armory or anything else eats only game time. And notes at my desktop are in frequent danger of cats and kids.
