Hey everyone,

Today's vote is about the difficulty level of MMX's Act One. Do you feel challenged enough? Or is it too hard, even if you play on the Adventurer level? Or is it just right for you? Please let us know!

I'm playing on Adventurer level and find it just a little bit too difficult at times.

Some things are incredibly easy despite being made out to sound hard... while some are so difficult I find myself tearing my hair out, from pure frustration.

Example: For a defender whose job is to take the damage and defend the rest of the team the taunt is too mana heavy. I often find my team slaughtered because the defender is out of mana, so my damage dealers get the damage instead.

i agree taunt should be less mana dependent, but i dont agree with the diff, its not that hard even on warrior, so i want at least one more diff level,, some fights are harder yes, but others were too easy even on warrior

Warrior difficulty level was quite challenging, but I manage to finish act1 with still plenty of potions & gold so that seem pretty balanced for me. Just the weapons and armor that breaks way to often...

I only had slight difficulties in the beginning and with some bosses on warrior level. Would love to see higher challenge made available. I never really got the feeling that I was fighting for my life except with the lighthouse boss!

To be completely honnest Warrior difficulty was just fine for me, the most challenging was the items breaking rule :).

instead of doing that sort of vote and changing diffulties please add 2-3 more diffivulty levels, 1 easier than adventurer 1 harder than warrior and 1 very challenging lvl, I think game wont change only monster stats and value of items and vendor prices will change so it shouldnt be too much work for development

2 or 3 might be pushing it, but I agree we could use one more difficulty level higher then Warrior. (Something like what Blizzard did: basically doubling all values on what the control testers felt as 'hard' to create nightmare difficulty) Idea here is to just add an impossible difficulty :P
Adventurer feels good. I'd suggest adding smaller tool tips during game play (that don't pause the game) which help explain the pros and cons of choosing certain skills and magic combos vs certain enemies

Having played the Early access on both adventurer and warrior difficulties I would just like to add my 2 cents:
I find the difficulty overall fitting on Adventurer level. Some encounters are hard, some encounters are easy, and it varies which are which depending on your party and skills (mostly magic schools).
However Warrior difficulty, while harder seems to only provide the added challenge of more hitpoints for monsters and higher prices on services and equipment. (Continued in reply)

This leads to more grinding, not necessarily a greater and more interesting challenge.
So I would suggest that the scaling in difficulty had more to do with the AI behavior and the skills available to monsters, instead of making them slower to kill.
This could result in the player actually having to apply more advanced tactics to overcome a certain challenge instead of just hitting the attack button a couple of more times and retreating to the tavern more often.

Getting the hang of things I jumped into warrior. I find myself with the same feeling as Shop. Difficulty should not mean different combat and shop values, but also what is available for the AI. Adding more spells to creature reservoirs, adding basic strategies to enemy behaviors (such as ranged enemies sticking back while their melee counterparts keeps you at bay) Things like these would greatly enrich the game play and it would add a sense of progression when climbing difficulties.

I played prepatches so before Mass-pots
Actually I found it challenging till first ,2nd levelups,but later on it smoothed out considerable and made it pretty easy imo-basically after the lighthouse the den of thieves was a piece of cake.
Anyhow, given the new Potions and also alot of the dmg in earlier versions came from bugs(retaliate 4times not first attack etc.) so I think its too easy now in my (assumed) opinion of current version.Id like to have a 3rd diff.

I don't think it's good to ask such a question as long as the balancing isn't fixed. The game is "too hard" if you don't know about certain things like the regeneration spell. Once you get it, all battles become a piece of cake.
Voted for option C but would rather like to see the balancing fixed.

Hier sind meiner Meinung nach mehrere Fragen gleichzeitig gestellt. Eine differenziertere Antwort scheint hier nötig zu sein. Oder vielmehr mehrere Antworten.
Der Abenteuerermodus scheint mir bisher ganz gut zu passen. Beim Warrior-Modus denke ich aber das Geld ist etwas zu knapp geraten, die Gegner dafür etwas zu einfach. Eine Reduzierung der Geldmenge scheint mir auch gar nicht notwendig, da der Bedarf (Kosten für Gefolgsleute, mehr Reparaturen) ja höher ist.

Dagegen sind die Gegner nicht sooo viel schwerer.
Andererseits bin ich nicht 100% sicher, in wie weit die bisherigen Patches da schon Änderungen machten, die die Bewertung hier auch vermischt.

I played both Adventurer and Warrior and found the game incredibly too much of a cakewalk. Potions had a big factor as one can literally just chug chug chug along their way and that there is no need for a balanced party. More so when you can use scrolls.

Not does there need to be mob tweaking but game mechanics in general including spells. For instance Stoneskin, I found ZERO usefulness in Stoneskin when out of the 16-19 dmg taken, it only reduced it by 1.

Another suggestion is make a 3rd difficulty that is for those that want a real challenge. Also if there is going to be a shift to more drawn out fights then they need to do address the issue of your magic users go through mana after a few spells.

Well, they got some heavy balance issues atleast, the mage did more damage with a a bow, than the ranger did, because of the "additional dmg" types got increased through their specc...

Also, tanks needs to be better at getting attention, it seemed easier to just bring another caster than a tank, due to: Push target back, shoot shoot shoot, repeat this one any trash, and its an easy win...

The challenge is fine for me on either level of difficulty. Experienced M&M and RPG players will be able to build strong characters on either level of difficulty.

I have a few complaints on adventurer level about things being too rough but that is to be expected. Its good as is.

I haven't played with the 1st official patch yet but the leveling is good except for the ghost are way to hard.

I voted "too hard", but there are only 2 very specific ways that I think this is the case, I think in general you have it right:

(1) Equipment still breaks too often, even after the 1st official patch, IMO. This makes it hard/frustrating in combat.

(2) The Ghosts are very hard.

I agree that balancing is a more crucial issue than difficulty settings. At Adventurer level with a below minimum system, I'm still able to handle what I faced so far (no lighthouse or ghost yet) with little difficulty. This became especially true when I discovered Regeneration as a Novice spell. Single player heal is not available that early but a full party heal is, interesting. Equipment break is an annoying joke since the broken equipment is still better than backups I held in reserve.

ive beeing playing in warrior level, the amount of gold found or monsters hit points dosant botter me but i wish there was a repair skill and taunt were more effective, like aoe and lasted longer. i offten get beaten down couse my weapons are broken and my no-weapon heros are dead for inneficient taunt but the game sure is going the right way, really reminds me of the olds m&m

Gotta put in my 2 cents here, but once you figure things out and know what build you want with a decent party, well even on Warrior its kind of a breeze. Only Thing to watch out for are certain status effects and weapons breakage, so up the difficulty!

Aparet from the chor of having 4 sets of weapon and having to repair that often, warrior needed some harder component that makes buffing and using the right gear or such more important.

But mostly i want more unique and fun weapons and armors, with unique names (:

The overall difficulty is set OK. (it normal that sometimes a gamer wins w/o a scratch and the other time he eve doesn't manage to run away, so quickly he loses)
What I think needs tweaking is an option of farming (in the good meaning of the word) and side quests that vary in the threat level (when I created a party that has hard startup, as I just wanted to try out non-OP builds I still want go through the game, but of course I would need to fight weaker enemies more often - respawn needed.)

Yes. I agree on getting respawns. Perhaps, if you want to keep it more balanced, you can make the respawns only earn half the xp. Players could still grind(many actually enjoy this), but it wouldn't be as easy to just make invincible party. The Respawns could be timed...say 2 days after they were originally killed.

Just a thought.

Far too easy, Please add more enemies, tougher battles with enemies using more skills and buffs. With potion chugging I'm facerolling everything I come across. where is the sense of impending death?
