Meet the team: Karsten, Lead Level Designer


Although being extremely busy right now making MMX, our dev team member Karsten (LE-Karsten) has made a little space in his schedule to answer a few questions. Being a man of short, concise answers, Karsten does not put us in danger of tl;dr (and also brings up a very good explanation on why it might be good to be a dwarf).

Who are you and what is your role at Limbic Entertainment?

Hi, I'm Karsten and I'm working as a Lead Level Designer and Content Integrator at Limbic Entertainment.

What exactly does a Content Integrator do?

Simple, integrating content. For example, putting assets into the engine, layouting dungeons or integrating level logic. It's a bit of everything.



What does your average day at work look like?

E-mails, meetings, solving problems.

Can you give an example for the kind of problems you have to solve?

For example, a level designer asked for a glow effect moving up on several objects. Then my job is to find or organize a solution.

What is the best part about your job?

Creating awesome looking stuff ;D

What do you like most about MMX in general?

The focus on central gameplay.

What kind of gamer are you according to the Bartle test?  


Would you rather be a human, elf, dwarf or orc?

Dwarf, they have the best beer :D

What are you currently playing?

Assassins Creed 3 & The Witcher 2

What's your motto?

Geht nicht gibt's nicht. (Roughly translated, that means "can't do, won't do" or "nothing is impossible".)
