First official patch available now

 

Discover new content in the first official update for Might & Magic X – Legacy Early Access!

 

 

We have the pleasure to announce you the release of the first official patch for Might & Magic X – Legacy. Thanks to your feedback and active participation in the Early Access program we’ve been consistently improving the game with new features and bug fixes.

 

It’s been more than a month since the Early Access version of Might & Magic X – Legacy was released. In this time we’ve read a huge number of comments from you guys on your desires and expectations, and we hope you'll like what has been achieved.

 

Here are the 5 things to know about this update:

  • 4 brand new classes are now playable: Scout, Druid, Mercenary and Shaman.
  • As decided in the “What to patch next” poll, the “item comparator” feature has been added to the game. You will now be able to compare a selected item with the currently equipped one from your inventory or merchants’ shops.
  • Many of you asked for it, thus the day and night cycle has been extended.
  • 2 additional languages have been added: Chinese and Japanese.
  • More than 100 bugs have been fixed based on your feedback.

 

This patch will automatically download when running Steam Client (whether you activated the Beta mode or not). For all other users, you just need to launch the game in order to download & patch.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE 

Please note that, due to the number of changes we have implemented, there might be issues when loading previous save files. Therefore we strongly recommend that you create a copy of your save files in a separate folder.

 

Once again, please be sure to check our “known issues list” and our “troubleshooting guide” before reporting bugs. If you experience problems accessing those forums after logging in, please refer to this thread.

CONTENT OF THE PATCH

 

Changes

 

• 4 new classes added

  • Shaman

• Resting and conditions: The following conditions are now removed by simple resting:

  • Weak
  • Paralyzed
  • Feebleminded
  • Asleep
  • Unconscious

 

• Shops are restocked each day

• Receiving cures in temples also resets the resting timer

• Time management has been updated

  • Time spent per turn has been updated as follows:
  • City: 1 minute per turn
  • Dungeon: 2 minutes per turn
  • Outdoor: 5 minutes per turn

 

• Item break chance is now applied as designed (break chance is not checked on each fight action anymore)

• Actions can no longer be removed from the action bar by simple drag and drop as it confused players. It is now only possible to overwrite them with other actions.

• New “identify item logic” for merchants and spells has been added (UI instead of just a dialogue option)

• Potions can now be consumed by dropping the potion on the character portrait.

• Hireling inventory implemented (Mule/Aonbarr)

• Voice overs for Narrator and Dunstan in Act 1 added

• Several screens and popups now have hotkey shortcuts for closing/canceling (escape) and confirmation (space/return). Spaces can no longer be used within save game file names (player feedback). Conversations can now also be ended using the escape key.

• New video player has been added (Bink). Videos are converted accordingly.

• New font system integrated for asian language support

• Ashan Calendar tooltip has been added to the day/night clock (next to minimap)

• Exploration party barks added

• Item compare added to the game

• Other UI Polishing:

  • Level up attributes UI updated
  • Quests in the quest log window are sorted like in the journal screen
  • Action log messages added when push back of “Gust of Wind” is not working and also when a (de)buff cannot be applied

Bug fixes (closed issues)

 

Skills & spells:

  • [Skill] Master tier bonus of sword has no effect when character execute first successful strike with a sword in main-hand.
  • [Skill][Bow] Monsters have no actions when they are being attacked from more than 5 ranges away.
  • [Skill][Effect] There is only 1 blood splash when characters equip Dual Wield skill to perform 2 attacks.
  • [Skill][Magic Focus] Character can equip two handed magical foci even though he/she hasn't reached the expert bonus effect of skill Magic Focus.
  • [Skill][Magical Focus] Damage of magical focus attack won't increase after reaching the grand master tier of Magical focus.
  • [Skill][Sword] Expert tier bonus of sword's effect is not the same as it is said in tooltip.
  • at the same time and sound will be overlapped.

 

  • [Spell] The spell - Fire Ward & Arcane Ward will also grant Armour Value to each member, which is against description in tooltiop.
  • [Spell][Burning Determination] The effect turns of Burning Determination cannot match that in tooltip.
  • [Spell][Celestial Armor] The effect turns of Celestial Armor cannot match the description in tooltip after it reaches level 4.
  • [Spell][Celestial Armour] Celestial Armour cannot prevent ranged attack from monsters.
  • [Spell][Gust of Wind] The spell - Gust of Wind still can push monster back, even the strike is missed.
  • [Spell][Ice Bolt] There is a debuff added to monsters when casting Ice Bolt, but it's not mentioned in the spell tooltip.
  • [Spell][Identify] The prime spell Identify can indentiy all unidentified items in inventory, which is against the description in tooltip.
  • [Spell][Logic] The healing spells which must be chosen by players cannot be used during battle under a certain circumstance.
  • [Spell][Mana Surge] Spell Mana Surge has no function.
  • [Spell][Mana Surge] The effect of Mana Surge still will remain on Ghost, even though she is immune to it.
  • [Spell][Mana Surge] The spell - Mana Surge works incorrectly when it is casted on Rogue Mage.
  • [Spell][Mana Surge] The tooltip of spell "Mana Surge" cannot match its actual result.
  • [Spell][Name] The name of air magic which can grant resistance to characters is inconsistence with other branch of magics.
  • [Spell][Poison Spray] The further damage of spell Poison Spray is improper when casting on some certain monsters.
  • [Spell][Poison Spray] The tooltip of spell "Poison Spray" cannot match its actual result.
  • [Spell][Regeneration] Regeneration only works on the first turn when party members are under unconscious.

  • [Spell][Sparks] Sparks can dealt much more damage than it is said in tooltip after reaching Air magic Level 2.

  • [Spell][UI] The tooltip of the buffs will become confused under a certain circumstance.
  • [Spell][Wind Shield] The air spell - Wind Shield doesn't seem to bring any effect to the party.

  • [Warfare][Spell] The spell Challenge is not working on Bosses.

 

Items:

  • [Broken item] Melee weapon will be broken when range attack is blocked.

 

  • [Collision] A certain chest and a pile of items' collisions are missing in Castle_2.

 

  • [Equipment] The certain weapon which can add level to skill/spell is invalid.

 

  • [Identify] The unidentified item already identified after switching map under certain situation.

 

  • [Inventory] Loot Items will vanish when the inventory was full.

 

  • [Item] The special function of the equipment which can add protection against negative condition will be triggered without limit.
  • [Item][Debug] The tooltip of Keys in game is debug info.
  • [Item][Repair] The party still can choose Rapair Weapons even though they only have broken armors and sheilds.
  • [Item][Text] The description of item Clarity Potion is incorrect.
  • [Items] The cartain equipment which can add resistance agaist all magic schools is improper.
  • [Items] The certain equipment which can convert damage to Health/mana has no function actually.
  • [Items] The magic item which can add resistance of all kinds of magics only added the resistance of Primordial magic.
  • [Items][Shield] The additional effect of specific shield never carried out.
  • [Items][UI] The icon of items is still remaining in shortcut action bar after items has been used up.

 

  • [Loot] The loot items cannot be picked up automatically when inventory is full, even though there are already same items in pack.
  • [Loot] The looting bags still remain on the ground after players pick up items already.

 

  • [Scroll] It will cost adjacent two characters' action turn when using the scroll - Water Flows Freely.
  • [Scroll][Spell] The actual effect of the spell scrolls are inconsistent with the tooltips.

 

  • [Vendor] Items in merchants’ shops never been refreshed.
  • [Vendor] Items in vendor won't be refreshed if player went out of Sorpigal until 8 o'clock the next day then return.

 

  • [Weapon] Some certain weapon can almost seckill monsters without limit.
    • [Blocker] The combat turn will get stuck when starting battle with two Rogue Mages in 2nd floor of Castle Portmeyron.

 

Combat:

  • [Combat][RangedAttack] The splash damage which is related to Magic school is missing in Ranged Attack.

 

Player Characters:

  • [Barrel][Highlight] The opened barrel which has had spider in it will be highlighted when party move close to it.

 

  • [Condition] The character who is in negative condition (Dead) still can open the secret.
  • [Condition] The Might & Perception values don't decrease as described when characters are Weak.
  • [Condition][Poisoned] The decreased Evade Value isn't consistent as the tooltip described.

 

  • [GameDesign] The first member always got more EXP than others after killing any monster.

 

  • [Rest] No buff was added to the party if they rested in the inn.
  • [Rest] Rent a room in inn also consumes one unit of supplies.
  • [Rest][Weakened] The health and mana won't set to 100% after resting if the character is under weakened condition.

 

  • [Service][Cure] Cure in temple isn't resetting the resting timer.

 

  • [Turn Logic] The turn worn't be finished after character used a potion in combat if once he used any scroll.

 

Non-Player Characters:

  • [Hireling] Player cannot hire Kengi in inn no matter what choice was selected.
  • [Hireling][PackHorse] No more gold will be consumed for PackHorse if the party hired him for the 2nd time.

 

  • [Logic] Monster will lose their aggro-flag if party stand on a certain tile in Castle_3.

 

  • [Monster][Cyclops] The monster Cyclops never dropped any items after killing it.
  • [Monster][Mamushi] Mamushi will trigger his "Boss" ability in improper times after suffering a debuff from the party.
  • [Monster][Spell] Party will get a attacked feedback when Coral Priestess cast Liquid Membrane.
  • [Monsters][Ability] Cyclops' ability - Sweeping Attack always will hit the first character in party.
  • [Monsters][Ability] Mamushi still can suffer from the damage of Poison Spray debuff, even he has the Boss ability.
  • [Monsters][Ability][Large] The increased damage by large ability is improper.
  • [Monsters][Debug] The description of Mamushi's 3 abilities - Boss, Curling, Push are debug.
  • [Monsters][EliteCyclops] One of Elite Cyclops' ability buff – Demonic Lineage displays as debug.
  • [Monsters][Kenshi] The monster Kenshi can trigger the ability -Relentless twice in a row at the same time.
  • [Monsters][Movement] Two monsters are easy to stand at same point in front of Lighthouse entrance.
  • [Monsters][Relentless] The actual effect of Kenshi's ability - Relentless is not consistent with tooltip.
  • [Monsters][Retaliation] The monster's ability Retaliation still can bring damage to party member even after that monster is dead.
  • [Monsters][Spell] Monsters' spell "Paralyzed" has animation, but no actual effect.
  • [Monsters][UI] Monsters HP bar will also move if turning camera during battle.

 

  • [NPC][Debug] There is a debug text when players submit the quest Jassad's Bestiary.
  • [NPC][Hireling] The hireling Felipe near the stables cannot be fired once he's been hired.
  • [NPC][Stable][Hireling] The NPC dialogue will transfer to Arthur's after selecting Hire horse at Felipe.
  • [NPC][UI] The option when hiring Packhorse is incorrect.

 

  • [Quest] The quest "Jassad's Bestiary" cannot be completed even if there were more than 10 creatures in the bestiary.
  • [Quest][NPC] Luke is still standing in the thief even if players choose the option "Let Luke Go".

 

User Interface:

  • [Condition][UI] Only 1 condition will display in tooltip when Unconscious character gets weak or feebleminded.
  • [Condition][UI] The red indicator of negative condition will vanish when casting curative spells and choosing characters.

 

  • [Ending Card][UI] The ending card doesn't fill in the screen.

 

  • [Map] Unexpected blanks are shown in the area map of Cave and Cryp.
  • [Map][Collision] Some arears in world map have incorrect collision with monsters.
  • [Map][GameMessage] The name of map "Cave" is spelled in a wrong way.

 

  • [Trade][UI] There is no confirmation for players when they want to sell items.

 

  • [Tutorial][UI] The "Equipment" hint will lead the game gets stuck.

  • [UI][Text] The tooltip when adding attribute point is inconsistent with players actuallly gain.
  • [UI][Text] Wrong texts like '10%%' exist in tooltip of equipment.
  • [UI][Trade] The interface of Trade will be overlapped with NPC's dialogue interface.
  • [UI][Turn] The forward navigation button shows grey after exiting any house in Sorpigal.
  • [UI][Vendor] The gold reduced after selling items in vendor under certain situation.
  • [UI][Vendor] The gold reduced while switching map under situation.
  • [UI][Weapon] The weapon "Wand" has no background color even if it is enchanted or unidentified.
  • [Bestiary][Texts] There is an incorrect message displaying in Bestiary page.

 

Text & tooltips:

  • [Character][Debug] Debug texts pop up after characters get leveled up.

 

  • [Combat][Texts] The tooltips of combat will be overlapped with monsters' buffs.

 

  • [Condition][GameMessage] An incorrect game message will present after any character is cured by magic spell.

 

  • [Debuff][Chilled] The tooltip of debuff - Chilled is incorrect.

 

  • [GameMessage] The game message is incorrect when characters in unconscious condition.
  • [GameMessage][Skill] There is still a game message for reaching a new skill tier, even though players didn't add skill points successfully.
  • [GameMessage][Text] The looting message which players loot from treasure box won't display in the game message box.

 

  • [Hireling][Text] There are variable texts in many NPC's dialogue.
  • [Text] One word is wrong in tooltip of Medium Armor expert tier.
  • [Texts][Overlap] The texts are overlapping in Quests book after loading the auto-save record.
    • [Shops][Suggestion] Cost for Identify or Repair in the stores should be displayed somewhere in the dialogue.

 

Suggestions:

  • [Suggestion][Combat] Range attack cannot be used when monsters are in close combat.
  • [Suggestion][Supplies] There is no option for players to buy one unit supplies, and they have to buy 6 every time.
  • [Suggestion][Time] Time in game is too fast.
  • [Suggestion][UI] There should be added some symbols match the type of NPCs on the mini-map.
  • [Suggestion] Equipment is easily to be broken and it forces player return to town to repair.

 

Save files:

  • [QuickLoad] The “QuickLoad” doesn't work after pressing “Confirm” button with all languages except English.

 

  • [Load/Save] Game cannot continue when loading any archive after "Exit to Menu".
  • [Load/Save] The difficulty Setting is not displayed in the archive info.
  • [Load/Save] The page numbers in Load interface is always same as Save interface, even they have different number of record.
  • [Load/Save][Buff] The Buff which was applied to the party before saving, will disappear after loading the record.
  • [Load/Save][Condition] The negative condition appearance of characters will be removed after loading the game record.
  • [Load/Save][Delete] Cannot delete any archive after entering the game and exiting to main menu.
  • [Load/Save][Lever] The triggered lever will be reset to original status after loading the record.
  • [Load/Save][Party] The selected character will be reset to first one after loading the game record.
  • [Load/Save][Text] Cannot input "space" character when creating a new save-game.
  • [Load/Save][UI] The detailed information of deleted record will still remain in the left side of Load/Save interface.
  • [Save/Load] Quest frame shows improperly after completing any quest under a certain circumstance.
  • [Save/load] The location on world map will missing after loading any archive.
  • [Save/Load][Cyclops] The monster "Cyclops" in map Dangerous Cave will missing under a certain circumstance.
  • [Save/Load][Equipment] The required skill of equipment shows improperly after loading.

 

Technical issues:

  • [Bark][Characters] The bark will be triggered repeatedly when character doesn't have mana.

 

  • [Camera] The camera cannot be rotated while right-clicking after opening a chest/barrel.

 

  • [Crash][64bit Vista SP1] The title crashed when running game under vista.

 

  • [Freeze] Loot items will lead to the game gets stuck under a certain circumstance.

 

  • [Graphics] There are some incorrect buttons in the Load/Save interface when player press Load/Save/Delete button in game.

 

  • [Logic][Secret] Some of the secrets can be opened twice under a certain circumstance.

 

  • [Programming] A certain grave in the world map cannot be opened.

 

  • [Resolution] Game resolution cannot change to the highest in window mode.

 

  • [Sound][PartyBark] When the whole party is weak / feebleminded, all characters bark

 

  • [Vocal] The vocal samples in other languages are still in English.
